A woman celebrating 25 years’ service with SK Chilled Foods is believed to have hand-folded more than 60 million samosas during her career.

Asmat Farooq, who works  SK Chilled Foods’ Riverside site on Teesside, is estimated to have made 2.5million samosas every year for the 25 that she has worked there. That means that during her time working for SK, Asmat, from Middlesbrough, is believed to have made upwards of 62.5million of the delicious snacks, hand folding every single one!

Her long service was recently marked by a special presentation to say thank you for all her hard work.
She was joined by colleague Kevin Coates Snr who was also celebrating 25 years of service. Kevin, also from Middlesbrough, is Hygiene Supervisor. Both were presented with certificates and gift vouchers as a token of appreciation.

Managing Director at SK Chilled Foods, Jeremy Faulkner, said: “We would like to thank Asmat and Kevin for their valued contribution to SK’s success over the years. Both of them have worked incredibly hard, being important parts of a team that supply millions of products to supermarkets nationally.

“It’s incredible to think about just how many people will have tasted and enjoyed something that Asmat has created and finished by hand. Making 2.5million samosas every single year is no mean feat!”
