It’s Afternoon Tea Week – Is there anything more quintessentially British than afternoon tea?

It’s as British as fish and chips, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and spotted dick.

We are therefore delighted to support Afternoon Tea Week, which is a celebration of one of the nation’s favourite traditions.

But, we like to do things a little differently here in the SK Foods’ kitchen, so here’s my alternative version to afternoon tea. It certainly went down like a storm in the office.

Bhaji scones with pulled duck
Bhaji scones with coconut chicken

Chocolate and coconut cream doughnuts
Chocolate and 5 spice cake
Milk sponge soaked in syrup
Mango chutney topped pork pie
Padan leaf wrapped chicken
Selection of Asian sponge cakes (Pandan and green tea, sweet potato and pepper)

Turkey & prawn bhaji
Pork belly with pickled cucumber steamed buns
Korean chicken brioche sliders
Hot smoked salmon, cream cheese crisp flatbreads

Puri of aubergine and chickpeas with yoghurt
Spiced turkey pinwheel
Spiced turkey in a crisp tortilla

Chocolate roll steamed buns
Parfait of black rice, coconut tapioca and fresh mango
Pokey sticks with chocolate
Mint tea, Chinese black tea

I would love to know what you think of my alternative afternoon tea, so please leave comments either on the blog or on our various social media channels.
