New Managing Director

Alan Thorpe has joined SK Chilled Foods as its new Managing Director.

The 52-year-old joined SK on 7^th March from Marmum Dairy in the United Arab Emirates where he spent the last two and a half years working as Sales Director.

Reporting to Group Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Faulkner, Alan has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of SK Chilled Foods, which recently celebrated the most successful Christmas period in its history, generating sales of £17.7 million.

He is based in the company’s head office in Wynyard. SK has two manufacturing sites in Middlesbrough.

Alan has worked in the food industry for 30 years for companies including Pinneys of Scotland, and Food Partners Group.

He says: “I am delighted to have joined such a well-established and respected company as SK Chilled Foods which is leading the way in the manufacture of snack foods and ready meals for the vast majority of large supermarket chains in the UK.

“Under Jeremy’s leadership, SK has gone from strength to strength, and I am looking forward to the challenge of further building on this, taking a leadership and team building approach that has served me well throughout my career.

“I am very hands-on and look forward to working with the team at SK to continue to drive the business forward.”
