We’re delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted in two categories at the Excellence in Food Manufacturing Awards 2016.
We’re proud to be nominated for chilled and fresh produce manufacturing company of the year and for a judges’ star performer award. The nominations focused on the business as a whole and recognised our strong relationships with customers, suppliers and employees. We were able to demonstrate first class customer service, strong technical integrity, category expertise and innovative practices which is a testament to the whole team’s hard work and dedication.
Whilst we love to talk about them, we admit that some food awareness celebrations get us scratching our heads (World Nutella Day is one that comes to mind) but National Rice Week is not one of them.
After all, as we specialise in chilled Asian food, it would be a little silly of us to let this one pass by without throwing in an opinion or two.
Is everybody enjoying Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight?
This is a nationwide event which supports and promotes Scotland’s produce and the people who grow, make, cook and sell it.
We’re big fans of Scottish food and are proud to make food here in the SK kitchen which is enjoyed by so many people north of the border.
You know we love our food awareness days here in the SK kitchen, but when it comes to bacon we think every day should be International Bacon Day.
The day may already be behind us (it was celebrated on 3rd September), but surely it deserves more than just a solitary 24 hours?
The boardroom at SK Chilled Foods’ head office was recently transformed into a fine dining restaurant for some VIP guests.
The guests, from the food industry, were invited to the ‘Wellington House’ restaurant to enjoy food cooked by our development chefs. The VIPs sat down to a nine-course meal following a tour of SK’s food production sites.
