National Curry Week

It’s national curry week, which has always had a place in our hearts here in the SK kitchen, after all it is our bread and butter (or should that be naan?)

To mark the week, supermarket Morrisons recently launched a new eight chilli-rated curry dubbed the Flaming Fiery Phaal. This was after complaints that their Volcanic Vindaloo was nowhere near hot enough.

This new dish comes with warning label as it contains scorpion chillies (which top the Scoville Heat Scale) as well as naga and green chillies.

We love veg here in the development kitchen – there’s sometimes a competition on who can use veg in the most creative way.

Lots of what we make here at SK Foods is vegetarian and we think they lose none of the flavour or impact through not having any meat!

Meat Free Week 2015

This week is Meat Free Week 2015, an initiative designed to get people to think about how much meat they eat, where it comes from and the impact eating too much meat has on your health, animals and the environment.

Critics of the initiative say it is just a ploy to encourage more people to become vegetarian, but we think they are missing the point.
